La nuit du renard

La nuit du renard

This book is a detective novel about a serial killer known as "Renard" in the French version. I chose to read it because some friends recommended it to me and told me it was both gripping and thought-provoking. I was curious to see if it would really live up to what they said, and in the end I was not disappointed.
The story follows two main protagonists, a young couple who are in love with each other but who do not always see life in the same way. They share some important differences in opinions, especially about the death sentence. The woman is clearly against the death sentence, while the man believes it can sometimes be justified. This disagreement is not just mentioned once; it comes back several times in the story and influences the way they react to what happens around them.
What I found really interesting is how their opposite views make them act and proceed differently when they are confronted with difficult situations. Their debates create tension inside the couple, but they also make the reader think about justice and morality. It gives more depth to the investigation and makes the book more than just a simple crime story.
Overall, it was a good and engaging read. The plot kept me interested until the end, and the moral questions raised by the characters stayed in my mind even after I finished the book. I personally recommend it, especially to people who enjoy detective novels that also make you reflect on serious topics.

Dragon Ball

Dragon Ball

"Dragon Ball" by Akira Toriyama is my favorite manga and also my favorite book. It is a classic, and the story starts with a kid named Goku who wants to keep an orange ball with four stars on it called a Dragon Ball. However, when you assembly seven of these dragon balls, you can make a wish, which makes the whole thing really interesting and gives the manga multiple antagonists throughout the story. Each villain has their own reasons for hunting the dragon balls, which keeps things fresh.
Even though it can seem cliche today, for its time, the ideas were pretty good and innovative. Dragon Ball influenced so many other manga and anime that came after it. Moreover, it is a manga that lasted for so long, more than 40 years actually. This means that the protagonist Goku is aging with us and becomes more mature with time. We see him grow from a naive kid into a strong warrior, then into a husband and father, and even a grandfather later on.
I really like how the character evolves throughout the series because it makes the story feel more real and personal. The fights are epic, but it is also about friendship, perseverance, and never giving up. I personally recommend it to anyone who enjoys action, adventure, and long stories where you can really see the characters develop over time.

One Piece

One Piece

"One Piece" by Eiichiro Oda is another manga that I really like. I decided to put this one on my list because it is still going on today, and every week, I spend around two hours reading and analyzing the latest chapter with online communities. The story is about a young pirate called Luffy who wants to become the Pirate King by finding the legendary treasure called the One Piece. However, the One Piece is extremely hard to find because the World Government, which is basically the equivalent of the UN in our world but evil here, wants to stop everyone from finding it at all costs.
The reason why the World Government is so desperate is because the One Piece contains a secret that would set them on fire if it were exposed to the world. This mystery is what makes the manga so interesting and engaging. People constantly make theories about what the One Piece actually is, what secrets it holds, or what will happen next in the story. The community around it is huge and very active, which adds another layer of fun to the experience.
This aspect of theorizing and discussing with other fans makes One Piece one of the most popular manga of all time, along with Dragon Ball. I personally recommend it if you enjoy long adventure stories with deep mysteries and a strong sense of community among readers.

The Dark Knight

Batman: The Dark Knight

"Batman: The Dark Knight" directed by Christopher Nolan is my favorite super-hero film. I wanted to talk about it because its success is largely due to the antagonist, the Joker. The Joker in this movie is not just a simple villain who wants power or money. He is more complex and unpredictable, which makes him really terrifying and fascinating at the same time.
What I find interesting is how the Joker challenges Batman not just physically but also morally. He creates situations where Batman has to make impossible choices, and this adds a lot of depth to the film. The movie is not just about action scenes and explosions, even though those are great too. It is also about the line between justice and revenge, and how far someone should go to protect people.
The Joker's performance is incredible and really makes the character memorable. The way he moves, talks, and laughs stays in your mind long after watching the film. Moreover, the film has a darker and more realistic tone compared to other super-hero movies, which I personally prefer. It feels more grounded and serious.
Overall, I think it is one of the best super-hero films ever made. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys action films but also wants something with more substance and thought-provoking themes.
